Who We Are
Gilroy Prep, Navigator’s flagship campus, has always been at the forefront of innovative education. From our inception, we've been driven by a singular vision: to create a learning environment that not only meets the academic needs of our students but also fosters leadership, collaboration, and a deep sense of community. At Gilroy Prep, we are dedicated to equipping all students with the essential support to excel not just in our classrooms but also in realizing their aspirations and pursuing their dreams.
Reimagining Education
Our journey began with a commitment to reimagine the traditional classroom setup. Instead of the conventional teacher-centered approach, we embraced a student-led model for middle school, drawing inspiration from modern workplaces like Google and NASA. This approach, known as the "Squads Model," places students at the heart of their learning journey. In squads, students break into teams, collaboratively working on common core standards and ensuring that every member masters the content before moving forward. This model emphasizes service to others, empathy, and collective responsibility.
Small Group Instruction
Central to our approach is the integration of small group instruction across all grade levels. With a student-instructor ratio of 15:1, each student benefits from personalized attention, tailored to their unique learning needs. Whether within squads or during small group sessions, our curriculum prioritizes individualized support, fostering a dynamic learning environment where every student can thrive.
